What is a Birth Doula?
Evidence Based Birth says this about doulas, "a birth doula is a companion who supports a birthing person during labor and birth. Birth doulas are trained to provide continuous, one-on-one care, as well as information, physical support, and emotional support to birthing persons and their partners."
Why do I want a Birth Doula?
Because I will fight for whatever you want! When everyone else is pressuring you, I will always be on your side. Not to mention the fact that having a birth doula with you at your birth lowers your risks of caesarean sections, unwanted pain medications, low APGAR newborn results, and being unhappy with your birth experience. It also increases your chances of spontaneous, natural labor and can help your labor be shorter!
